Wolverines Take on the CGHL

Nashville, TN (September 2024) – In an exciting development for female hockey players, the Tennessee Wolverines are proud to announce its entry into the newly formed Central Girls Hockey League (CGHL) for its upcoming inaugural season. This move marks a new chapter in the team’s history and reflects its commitment to growing the game and creating a new level of excitement for girls youth hockey in Middle Tennessee and across the southeast.

The CGHL was created for Tier II non-national tournament-bound girls travel teams and represents a new entry point into travel hockey for girls. By joining the CGHL, the Tennessee Wolverines aim to build on their continuous growth and bring a fresh wave of energy to the league.

The Tennessee Wolverines will compete against powerful clubs with a longstanding history of girls hockey in the Central Girls Hockey League: the Chesterfield Lady Falcons, Cincinnati Jr. Cyclones, Louisville Lady Cardinals, and Indianapolis Jr. Fuel.

These four other organizations will join the Wolverines in the league’s inaugural season.

This move to the CGHL signifies a strategic step forward towards the Tennessee Wolverines’ dedication to pushing its limits and striving for growth. Facing the Lady Falcons, Jr. Cyclones, Jr. Fuel, and Lady Cardinals will be no easy task. Teams from across three age divisions will meet for five league weekends over the course of the year, concluding with the CGHL Championship Weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio, in February 2025.

Founded in 2022, the Tennessee Wolverines have a rich history of community involvement and grassroots development of girls hockey in the state of Tennessee and across the southeastern United States.  With a dedicated team and passionate group of families, the Tennessee Wolverines Hockey Club continues to be a cornerstone of the hockey scene.
Good luck in the CGHL, Wolverines!
